SpeakNowForKids
For the past 2 and a half years, I have used this space to write about our adventures. I have tried to be positive…even when I wanted to be sad. And, I’ve been frustrated. Our lives have been forever changed…be that good or bad (and believe me, there are lots of goods–but the bads are really bad).
Anyway, as you know, I have a special place in my heart for my voice—and the way it can be used to change things. There is a new website (click here) called SpeakNowForKids. They are trying to ensure change for all children within the health care system. Of course, I have a LOT to say about the health care system—BUT, it is also my chance to tell my story. Maybe, just maybe, someone will listen. Maybe there will be some change. If another adoptive parent could be saved from the torture that we’ve gone through, isn’t it worth it?
If you’re a special needs parent, you have to check this out…it’s a good place. I think this is our first step in really standing as a cohesive group to fight for our kids.
I’ll get off my soapbox now (will I? nah!!!)….

Bravo Heather !!!
hugs, diane

Hi, Heather. I found you through the Inspire website, and just stopped by to say hi. I have a little boy who’s 6 with cp, I blog about him too. He has his challenges, but is doing a lot better than the doctors said he would.
Thanks for the alert about this site, I will check it out.
